Conference Description~

The ASR team knows that every person who works with youth runs into difficult questions about sexual decision-making, healthy relationships, sexual and gender identity, and sexual health. This "BACK TO BASICS" conference is designed to train everyone with up-to-date, science-informed, youth-focused tools, skills and knowledge to feel more competent handling those tough situations. Our dynamic plenary and sessions will focus on anatomy and sexual development, decision-making, birth control and pregnancy prevention, STI's and HIV, with a concentrated focus on healthy relationships, gender identity and sexual orientation, and navigating professional and personal boundaries.  Those new to working with youth will be able to build a strong foundation "101" level sessions, while more seasoned professionals can stretch themselves in the "201" level sessions.

"Boot Camp"

This one day conference will be a sexuality education and healthy relationship "boot camp" training for everyone who works with youth, health and wellness educators, school counselors and youth-serving organizations and beyond.

Youth Panel

A youth panel and youth-led training on Healthy Relationships will kick off our morning. The panelists will be  discussing their views on the importance of having a healthy relationship and will be open to questions from  the audience. The second half of our morning will host a wide-range of break out options, followed by a lunch  and learn focused on navigating values. The afternoon sessions will focus on the ever-growing topics of  gender and sexual identity and we will wrap up with the a session on self-care, addressing the crucial skills  and resources youth-serving professionals need to stay motivated and share ways to take care of you while  you serve others.
