HEALTHY STARTS RESOURCE GUIDE
OVERVIEW
The Healthy Starts Alignment Team is currently working to update the resource guide that includes services and other resources to help pregnant and parenting teens. The resource guide is available to professionals who work primarily with pregnant and parenting teens in the Pearl Cohn Cluster area to use as a reference to help them find specific resources within that community. This year, the Healthy Starts Alignment Team plans to make this resource guide accessible not only to professionals, but also to the pregnant and parenting teens.
Invitation to Participate™!
If your organization provides one of the needed categories of services listed on this page, we invite you to fill out this Invitation to Participate™ (form below) and submit to be reviewed by the Healthy Starts Alignment Team (you will be prompted to log in with your organization to view andcomplete).
The Healthy Starts Alignment Team vision is that all children begin life healthy.
We are looking for organizations that provide the following categories of services in and around the Pearl Cohn Cluster area (includes area codes 37208, 37209, 37228):
- Prenatal Medical Care
- Post-partum Mother/Childcare
- Academic Support Services
- Career Planning Services
- Social-Emotional Support
- Teen Pregnancy Prevention Services
- Family Counseling Services
- Life Skills/Budgeting
- Childcare Services
- Parenting Skill Building
Primary Outcomes of Project
Short-Term:
- To increase awareness of available resources within the community.
Mid-Term:
- To increase the number of pregnant teens in the school district who seek prenatal care within their first trimester.
- To increase awareness among pregnant and parenting teens of the responsibilities of becoming a parent.
Long-Term:
- To improve children's health.
- To improve high school graduation rates.
- To make Nashville America's healthiest city for children.
