Dear Partner,

We know that students who are pregnant and parenting need extra support to have a healthy baby, stay in school and engage in a meaningful career. Many organizations in our community provide resources and services for these students: the 2nd Edition Healthy Nashville, Healthy Future resource guide provides you with a list of these important resources and services to make it easier for young people to be supported as both young adults and responsible parents. Since the publication of the 1st Edition in 2009, Nashville has seen a decline in the overall number of students who need pregnancy and parenting support as well as an overall decline in the number of babies who do not live to see their first birthday. While these changes are positive, there are still many students who need support and continuing challenges to ensure Nashville is the healthiest city for children, youth and families. Our work continues to create linkages between community providers, school professionals, and to support young people as both students and parents.

The 2nd Edition Healthy Nashville, Healthy Future guide is organized according to the point at which students are most likely to access services: prenatal/pregnancy, post-partum and infant care/parenting. The Healthy Starts A-Team has reviewed each entry for appropriateness. While the A-Team has made every effort to create a complete guide, we know that there are services that are not included in this listing. We intend to update the guide at least annually and will provide updates electronically. If you would like to receive electronic updates as well as have an opportunity to provide feedback on the guide please email Jaleesa Johnson, Team Coordinator, jaleesa@alignmentnashville.org.
